How PinkRide collects, uses and protects the personal information of riders and drivers.

PRIVACY POLICY – RIDER

PINKRIDE PRIVATE LIMITED (“PinkRide”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from you, why we collect it, how we use it, when we may share it, and the choices available to you when you use the PinkRide mobile application, website, and related services.

By accessing or using PinkRide, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect information that you provide to us, information generated when you use our services, and certain technical information required to operate the platform.

A. Information You Provide

Depending on the services you use, we may collect:

  • Name
  • Mobile number
  • Email address
  • Profile photo, if you choose to provide one
  • Face image, if you use a feature that asks for one for identity verification
  • Gender — PinkRide is available only to women, so we collect your gender to confirm that you are eligible to use the platform
  • Date of birth and preferred language, where applicable and if provided by you
  • Pickup and drop-off locations or addresses
  • Ratings, reviews, comments, and other feedback you provide after a ride
  • Help & Support requests you submit, including their title and description

Your account is also associated with the city in which PinkRide operates, which is used to calculate applicable fares.

B. Information Collected Automatically

When you use PinkRide, certain information may be collected automatically, including:

  • Location information, when location permission is enabled, to help identify pickup locations, match you with drivers, and provide live ride tracking.
  • Device information, such as device type, operating system, app version, and technical identifiers.
  • Crash reports and error logs to help us identify and fix technical problems.
  • Push notification token to send ride-related notifications.
  • Ride history, including booking date and time, pickup and drop-off locations, distance, duration, fare and fare breakdown, vehicle, and driver information.
  • Wallet transaction information, including wallet credits, debits, ride payments, and withdrawal requests.

C. Information We Do Not Collect

Based on the current PinkRide payment and app setup:

  • We do not directly collect or store your debit/credit card details through the PinkRide app.
  • We do not collect Aadhaar or other government ID documents from riders.
  • We do not access your contact list, personal photos, or private messages unless you voluntarily provide specific information through a feature that requires it.
  • We do not collect your device location when the PinkRide app is closed or when you have not granted the required location permission.

2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use the information we collect for legitimate business and service-related purposes, including:

Providing and Managing Rides

  • Process and manage ride bookings.
  • Match passengers with available drivers.
  • Identify pickup and drop-off locations.
  • Calculate applicable fares, including the final fare based on actual distance and time.
  • Provide ride details and status updates.
  • Display vehicle location during an active ride.

Confirming Eligibility

PinkRide is a women-only platform. We use your gender and account information to confirm that you are eligible to book rides, and to act on reports that an ineligible person is using an account.

Connecting Passengers and Drivers

When a ride is confirmed, we may share relevant passenger information with the assigned driver so that the driver can identify the passenger and complete the ride.

This may include your name, profile photo where available, applicable rating information, pickup location, drop-off location, and mobile number, as necessary for the ride.

Notifications

We use your device information and push notification token to send important service notifications, such as:

  • Driver assigned
  • Driver arrived
  • Ride started
  • Ride completed
  • Booking updates
  • Cancellation updates
  • Other important service notifications

Customer Support and Dispute Resolution

We may use relevant ride and account information to:

  • Respond to your questions, complaints, and Help & Support requests.
  • Investigate ride-related issues.
  • Resolve disputes between passengers and drivers.
  • Verify what happened during a particular ride.

Safety, Fraud Prevention and Platform Security

We may use information to detect, investigate, prevent, and address:

  • Fraudulent activity
  • Account misuse
  • Fake bookings
  • Payment or wallet misuse
  • Safety incidents
  • Violations of our Terms & Conditions
  • Other unlawful or abusive activities

Improving Our Services

We may use aggregated, anonymised, or de-identified information to understand usage patterns, improve our services, identify technical issues, and improve the overall PinkRide experience.

3. WHEN AND WITH WHOM WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share limited information with the following categories of recipients when necessary to provide PinkRide services or comply with legal obligations.

A. Drivers

When a ride is confirmed, the assigned driver may receive information necessary to complete the ride, which may include:

  • Name
  • Profile photo, if available
  • Relevant rating information
  • Pickup location
  • Drop-off location
  • Mobile number

Your mobile number is not provided to the driver before a ride is confirmed.

B. Service Providers

We may use third-party service providers to support the operation of PinkRide, including providers for:

  • Maps and location services
  • SMS and OTP verification
  • Push notifications
  • Online payment processing
  • Cloud hosting and infrastructure
  • Technical monitoring and error reporting
  • Other essential technology services

These service providers are permitted to access only the information reasonably necessary to provide their services to us and are expected to handle such information in accordance with applicable contractual and legal requirements.

C. Legal and Regulatory Authorities

We may disclose information when required or permitted by applicable law, including in response to:

  • Court orders
  • Government or regulatory requirements
  • Law enforcement requests
  • Legal proceedings
  • Prevention or investigation of fraud, crime, or other unlawful activity

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR INFORMATION

We generally retain your personal information for as long as your PinkRide account remains active or for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our services.

If you delete your account, we will take reasonable steps to delete or anonymise personal information that is no longer required.

However, certain information may need to be retained for a longer period where required for:

  • Legal or regulatory compliance
  • Tax and accounting requirements
  • Financial records or invoices
  • Fraud prevention
  • Dispute resolution
  • Enforcement of agreements
  • Protection of our legal rights

Such information will be retained only for the period required or permitted under applicable law.

5. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS AND CHOICES

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights regarding your personal information.

Access and Correction

You may review or update certain personal information through your PinkRide profile.

Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your PinkRide account through the app, where the feature is available, or by contacting us at pinkride06@gmail.com.

Before deleting an account, outstanding rides, payments, wallet balances, disputes, or other pending matters may need to be resolved.

Certain information may continue to be retained where required by law or for legitimate legal, security, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes.

Location Permission

You can enable or disable location permissions through your device settings.

If you disable location access, certain PinkRide features, including pickup identification, driver matching, and live ride tracking, may not function properly.

6. DATA SECURITY

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss, or misuse.

Information transmitted between your device and our systems is protected using appropriate encryption/security measures where applicable.

Access to personal information is restricted to authorised persons and service providers who need access for legitimate business or service purposes.

However, no internet-based service or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

PinkRide services are intended for individuals who are 18 years of age or older.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18.

If we become aware that personal information has been collected from a person under 18 without appropriate authorisation, we will take reasonable steps to delete the information, subject to applicable legal requirements.

8. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, technology, legal requirements, or privacy practices.

When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this Privacy Policy.

For material changes, we may provide additional notice through the PinkRide app, website, email, or other appropriate communication methods where required.

Your continued use of PinkRide after the updated Privacy Policy becomes effective may constitute acceptance of the updated policy, subject to applicable law.
